At Jablon Studios, we have used this mesh for over 15 years, completing over 50 public mosaics. Our process is proven and efficient:
Mesh Strips: We start by gluing the mesh into 12-inch strips, which allows us to create mosaics in the exact measurements needed for our wall.
Design & Tile Placement: After drawing our design onto the mesh, we glue tiles according to the design layout using Jablon Studios Mosaic Glue.
Transportation & Installation: Once the mosaic is complete, we cut it into 2-foot sections, transport it to the installation site, and install the mesh directly onto the final surface. The result is a seamless mosaic mural that looks as if it was created in place.
Perfect for Slippery Surfaces
This mesh is also excellent for use on slippery or challenging surfaces. If you're working on a smooth or non-porous surface, here's how to use the mesh to ensure a secure bond:
Apply to the Surface: Lay the mesh onto the surface, applying Jablon Studios Mosaic Glue between the mesh and the slippery surface.
Let Dry: Allow the glue to dry and set firmly in place.
Mosaic Application: Once the mesh is secured, you can continue with your mosaic work. The mesh layer will create a non-slip, stable base that helps the tiles adhere securely, ensuring your mosaic stays intact for the long haul.
