Glass Fused Yak Workshop & Fundraiser 📍 Ryan’s Yak Farm, 368 Kilroy Rd, Oxford, NY 13830 🗓 Sunday, October 5, 2025 at 2:00 PM Come meet the yaks and then make your very own in glass! This fun and family-friendly workshop is a fundraiser for Ryan’s Yak Farm and a perfect afternoon for kids and adults alike. Each student will be given a 5" tall glass fused yak base (with 2 horns) to decorate. The yak will come with a 4" wooden stand for display (not the stand in the image). If you prefer, you can also have your yak made into a suncatcher instead of using a stand. ✨ What You’ll Learn & Use: How to cut and shape glass How to design with glass stringers (straight & handmade curly/wavy) How to work with glass powders for detail and shading Adding embellishments with our handmade glass lace, marbles, murrini flowers, and more Creative options to add hair, faces, flowers, bells, and unique décor to make your yak one of a kind After class, we’ll take your decorated yak back to our studio to fire in the kiln. Projects will be ready in about 3 weeks. Pickup will be available at Ryan’s Yak Farm or at Jablon Studios in Vestal. We’ll email you as soon as your yak is ready. 👪 Who Can Join: This is a beginner-friendly class, no experience necessary, and a wonderful project for kids. Please note that we need to pre fire the yaks in the kiln before the class. Please sign up a couple days before the class as we will be closing the class on Oct 3rd so we have time to get all the yaks in the kiln. ⚠️ Please Note: There are no refunds for this class. However, if you cannot attend, you are welcome to make your project during any of our 6 open studio sessions per week at Jablon Studios in Vestal. Come support the farm, learn glass fusing techniques, and leave with a yak that’s uniquely yours!
