Glass Fused Yak Workshop & German Club of Newark Valley Fundraiser 📍 Newark Valley Fire Hall, 7151 NY-38, Newark Valley, NY 13811 🗓 Sunday, September 28 at 1:00 PM Support the German Club of Newark Valley and join us for a fun and family-friendly glass art workshop! In this special fundraiser, you’ll create a glass fused yak, about 5" tall, displayed in a wooden stand—perfect for a playful and unique tabletop art piece. To make this event beginner- and kid-friendly, we’ll pre-cut and pre-fuse the yak bases ahead of time. At the workshop, all you’ll need to do is decorate your yak using our wide selection of colorful glass embellishments. ✨ What You’ll Learn & Use: How to design with hundreds of colors of opaque and transparent glass Decorating with glass powders and frits Adding details with straight and curly/wavy stringers (handmade in our studio) Working with our glass lace, murrini, and glass dots to give your yak personality and dimension Optional lesson: designing glass flowers or patterns to add to your piece Once you’ve finished designing, we’ll take your project back to our studio to fire in the kiln. After firing, we’ll mount it into a wooden stand so it’s ready to display. ✨ Pickup Policy: Your completed yak will be ready in about 3 weeks. We’ll email all participants when their pieces are ready. Pickup will be available in Newark Valley or at Jablon Studios in Vestal. ⚠️ Please Note: There are no refunds for this class. However, if you cannot attend, you are welcome to make up the project during any of our 6 open studio sessions per week at Jablon Studios.
